Kids Section Games

Warmth of the Cross
by Craig
Children are guided to find a hidden cross

Materials:
Small cross

Duration:
Approximately 15 minutes

Two boys and cross
  Topics:
Cross, Knowing God, Love
Just for Fun

Target Age:
Preschool to Grade 1
What you will do:
You will select one child to take a small cross (paper cut out as displayed above will work fine) and hide it somewhere in the classroom while the other kids wait outside. After the child hides the cross, let everyone back into the room. The child who hid the cross will call out the names of the kids and say warm or cold depending on how close they are to the cross. Have them continue until they find the hidden cross. If time permits, the one who finds the cross can hide it again so the class can play the game again.

What you will say:
As we get closer to God, we can feel His warmth and love, and He draws us nearer and nearer to Him. However, when we turn from Him, and go the other way, it becomes harder and harder to feel the warmth and love He has for us.

"You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you." (Psalm 86:5 NIV)
